Colour me up !

Pastels, neons.
Floral prints and pieces of rainbow.

I noticed that there hasn't been any real inspiration posts lately from me.
I thought I'd make a change to that and give you some colourinstead of
my poorly lighted home or thrifted items, hehe ^^I wish we had the light of
Australia or USA or something - anything or anywhere I try to
photograph the items turn dull looking :D

But about this week:
I'm not much of a Easter person, of course I send greetings to you all and stuff
but there's no decoration in my house or any special themed plans either.
It was more special growing up I think. Last Sunday, on Palm Sunday kids
circled from door to door dressed as witches, cats or bunnies and have
decorated branches of pussy willows with them- just like we did as children,
and got loads of easter eggs from neighbours!
This tradition reminds me of American Halloween, except we don't go "trick
or treating" on Palm Sunday. I don't know how to translate the complete song but
the end is like "rod to you, gift to me" = how awful that rod might sound,
it means the cutely decorated branches of willow. And the kid gets something in return.
Usually chocolate eggs.
Me, one big child myself, got one this year! My "mother in laws" (we're not married
with my bf so what's a proper title?) uncle and aunt had given them to us "children"
- so sweet ! I'll show you what was inside them, in upcoming home post pictures.
We're going to my mum's place for dinner on Sunday,
and before that to "mother in laws" birthday for coffee & cake.

How are you celebrating Easter, if at all?
Any other nice weekend plans? :)
x

liipa laapaa meidän suomalaisten pääsiäisestä :D
Ja minäkin sain suklaamunan! Kuva yllätyksestä tulee pian
julkaisemani koti-päivityksen mukana. Sunnuntaina mennään
"anopille" synttärikakkukahveille ja illalla äidin luo syömään.

Onko teillä pääsiäis/muita viikonloppusuunnitelmia? :)

  1. Hyvää pääsiäistä! Itselläni kova viikko takana joten tarvitsen neljä rentouttavaa päivää! Tänään syötiin karitsan ribsejä ja muuten vain vietettiin laatu-aikaa avomiehen kanssa! Kiitos muuten kommentista!

  8. Hello lovely lady!

This is such a pretty post (as always) - the bright colours certainly have added some joy to my morning! :)

I agree with your sentiments about Easter being special growing up - I remember I used to await the Easter bunny and always have an egg hunt on Easter Sunday! I still get pretty excited when someone gives me a chocolate egg haha. Now, it's grown to be just another weekend (sadly!) and I am actually going to be working in the hospital all weekend while a lot of people here in Australia will be making trips to the beach and enjoying time with the family. It's so lucky that I love my work otherwise it would be such a miserable time for me!

Other than that, I'm sending lots of love and sunshine from the sunny Gold Coast - not to make you jealous but the sky is this beautiful blue shade today, without a single cloud! If I didn't have to work, I would most definitely be lazing around at the beach hehe.

Have a great Easter darling and I hope there are a few chocolate treats for you. ;)

Easter was a much bigger celebration when I was a child. Now my family just gets together for a nice dinner. It is still nice to spend some time with family.

  33. I love colours and for Easter we have branches (not willow but beautifully green and in leaves anyway) decorated with tiny Easter eggs bought from Tiimari ;) but actually we don't celebrate Easter. I did it when I was a child :P then we coloured eggs every year.
I enjoyed reading your Easter story :)
