Beauty for the Winter Beast

It's hazardous to leave your girlfriend alone on a lazy Sunday evening with a working computer, internet connection and little bit of extra money on the bank account. Trouble, trouble, trouble..
But the bright news are that this "trouble" aka beauty haul is something to brighten up my mood and to finally turn off the "winter sleep mode". Since we Finns have shaken off the cold, dark winter days from our shoulders - like the rest of the World already has - and have enjoyed the April showers with full force, we're definitely in need of some new and lovely beauty products. At least I do, yeah I'm that vain. :)
And to make this little beauty order even more justified, it was also a very cheap one; all of my orders from Fragrance Direct have been ridiculously inexpensive ones !

You might have read about my previous buys here before, like Essie nail polishes. They're only £1.99 on Fragrance Direct and the reason why I ordered from them in the first place! That price is about 2,40€ and 3$, and where I live they cost 10-15€. That's almost 20$ - doesn't that sound just horrible! Only downside about Fragrance Direct is that they don't always offer the newest shades of Essie's, or at least not as much shades as elsewhere. But I've been very pleased with the shop and all the other products I've got as well. I'm currently using a salon quality hair conditioner by Trevor Sorbie I bought there last time (about £2-3). Since I'm now almost out of shampoo for coloured hair (and don't want to spend fortunes for good stuff) I turned to Fragrance Direct once more! And before you think that this is a sponsored post, I must say NO. I'm not their advertiser (since the affiliate program ended) and I've never got a single product for free from them. Well, got a perfume sample with my first order. :) But I love the store, their product range and prices especially,
and support them because of those reasons - why the heck not.

.. The Tiny Bit of a Haul I Just Made..

I've been thinking about testing Aussie-products for a really long time, but Colour Mate costs
about 15€ on our shops! Fragrance Direct price was £2.99 (about 3,50€ / 4.60$) so this was the first item
 on my shopping bag.

No, paitsi pienen hajuvesinäytteen ensimmäisen tilaukseni mukana.

Next wish of mine was to find peachy or tangerine toned lip colour and blusher. I haven't tried those colours myself, but I saw famous Finnish make up artist Suvi Tiilikainen rock peachy lips the other day (at VIP-event of the shopping centre I work at) so I definitely want to try them out. After some browsing on the webshop and google-searching for more product images (since the ones on FD aren't always the best kind..) I found the ones I wanted to try out. I also haven't got any product to make lip colour last longer, so I thought I should try out Lipcote Lipstick Sealer, which cost only £2.50 (3,30€ / 4$)
I have the bright red from Kate's matte shades (cost me 7 euros, £6 / 10$), but now I want to try out something summery peachy or tangerine shade. I hope this tone suits me, but it was such a nice find that I do not even care if it looks funny. I can give it to a friend then :D These lipsticks are £1.99 (2,40€ / 3.50$).

I found some better photos via google search, the ones above are from this blog, "The Lunar Lights". I also got nice extra info and personal reviews about products this way. I hope this isn't too rosy one, but that's fine too since this was such a cheap find - only £1.99 (2,40€ / 3.50$)
But do remember, these prices do not include the shipping! So all of these products cost about £10, but with shipping overseas 15. (about 18€ / 23$) Haha still so so cheap - who am I trying to frighten here! :)

// Löysin parempia tuotekuvia tosiaan googlen kuvahaulla, etenkin blogeista.

  1. Oho, onpas edullista. Aussien tuotteet on mahtavia eli laitettava kohta tilausta tulemaan kun nykyset putelit loppuu ;) Voin siis suositella Colour Maten lisäksi Miracle Moistia, vielä taivaallisemman tuoksuista!

    1. No kyllä !

  2. Essien lakat on kyllä Suomessa ihan hirveissä hinnoissa.

  7. It looks like you got some great stuff :) I really like Aussie products but I don't think they're worth they price they cost here in Scandinavia (you can get them for around 12€ here), but for the price you paid it's a good product! I've also been wanting to try a rimmel lipstick. Especially the Kate ones :)

Hope you're having a nice Vappu! (and I hope my spelling didn't suck). I'm trying my best to get back on track with my blogging!

    1. Yeah I hope so, I just ordered them on Sunday and hope to get them tomorrow or Friday ..Can't wait! ^^
And the main reason why I haven't tried Aussie products yet is the price..I've heard nice things about them but I'm quite "penny-pinching"/stingy when it comes to beauty products :D Must be because I know there's equally good stuff available with a fraction of the price. :)
I can say already that the Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate are super soft, smell lovely and stay pretty long. Although the red one I have needs lacquer on top, otherwise own lip shows after a while.

Thanks Niina, I had a really lovely Vappu. Will try to post pics soon here ^^

  8. haha I just love those haul posts. even if I can't actually order stuff online myself. it's just really interesting to see which products are other bloggers' favourites and which turn out to be rather pointless. so I'm definitely curious about that Aussie shampoo! ;)

    1. Heh I'm glad you like these! :) That's too bad you can't order, but maybe sometime someone else could do the order for you and send forward? At least I would definitely do that for you in case there's something extra special available only on some foreign store. x

I'm curious about that shampoo too, since they're so popular products! There's even Aussie awards for bloggers .. :D
